Meet the Cast: baritone, Peter Alexander

1 Oct

I’ve had the pleasure of performing with Peter in a few different contexts, and he never ceases to impress me with his wit, charm, and impeccable musicianship. Without giving away the costumes for Diagnosis: Diabeteslet’s just say his performance wardrobe includes tuxedos, tutus, and leather chaps!

In addition to his role in the Question Time Chorus, Peter will be singing the role of the Endocrinologist who diagnoses Charlie, Charlie’s oldest friend, and Andy, his co-worker.

Read below for more about Peter Alexander.

Peter’s greatest passion is to perform on the world stage. Whether it is opera or oratorio, cabaret or art song, he relishes every opportunity to share his artistry with everyone.  Peter’s career has taken him around the globe and as such has garnered many wonderful accolades.
Opera Canada magazine stated “Peter Alexander dominated the evening by exhibiting excellent vocal command eminently suited to the Baroque period,” for his performance of the title role in Pimpinone. His opera roles include Germont in La Traviata, Valentin in Faust, the title role in Gianni Schicchi, Bob in The Old Maid and the Thief, Escamillo in Carmen, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, and Figaro in The Marriage of Figaro.
Oratorio highlights include the Sea Symphony, Elijah, Messiah, Haydn’s Creation, a dozen Requiem performances by various composers and, his favourite, Carmina Burana, which he performed in a Ballet BC world premier production choreographed by John Alleyn.
